The annual class trip to Disney’s Magic Kingdom has finally arrived, and it was a blast. After much anticipation, friends got the opportunity to bond outside of the classroom and enjoy thrilling rides and food. The large groups made everything much more exciting and meaningful. Overall, it was an experience to remember for the Class of 2029.
Freshman Daniela Ajuz noted that being able to cherish the experience with her friends made the trip an event to look forward to. “I’m excited to go on all the rides with my friends,” she said before the trip. When asked afterward if the experience lived up to her expectations, Daniela had mixed feelings. “Yes and no, because I had a lot of fun with my friends, but at the same time, I was only able to go on four rides.” High wait times were a major inhibitor, preventing her from riding more of the attractions that draw large crowds. Even though she wished she could have done more, she still enjoyed the time she spent with her friends.
For Matilda Bohtling, one of the most exciting parts of the trip was seeing the castle again. “I’m excited to see the castle because I haven’t been in a long time,” she said. Matilda had been to Disney before, but she felt this trip would be different because she was older. “Yes, I think it’ll be different because I was smaller when I went, so everything was more magical.” Overall, Matilda felt that the trip met her expectations. “I got to try the new Tron ride and a lot of other cool rides.” The new attractions made the trip especially enjoyable for her.
Finally, Valentina Gomez shared that she was most excited about both the rides and the delicious food. When reflecting on her experience, Valentina said it lived up to her expectations. She really enjoyed the snacks, noting, “My favorite food there was definitely the fudge ice cream; it was so good.” She reflected on how eating that ice cream with her friends was one of the highlights of the trip.
Ultimately, the Magic Kingdom lived up to its name, though not always in the ways the Class of 2029 expected. Whether they were conquering high-speed coasters like Tron or simply sharing a laugh, the day wasn’t defined by the number of rides checked off a list. Instead, it was defined by the company. For these freshmen, the “magic” was less about the park itself and more about the long-lasting memories made.
