Cross Country Team competes at Home

MAST Academy’s boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed against Miami Senior High in a friendly.

On October 19th at MAST Academy, MAST Academy’s cross country team competed against Miami Senior High School at home.

MAST’s Girls’ cross country team won with a total of 25 points to Miami Senior High’s 41 points.

The lady Mako with the best performance came from junior Maia Canessa, who came in with a time of 27:26.

MAST’s boys’ cross country team lost with a total of 56 points to Miami Senior High’s 10 points.

Although the meet was unofficial and doesn’t hold any value in standings, it nevertheless provided both teams practice for more important meetings like championships.

She’s looking forward to writing for The Beacon. “I chose journalism because language arts is my favorite subject and it sounded fun” she says. Gomez’s decided on coming to MAST for the location, as well as the academics. “I actually almost went to Immaculata-La Salle High School but eventually decided on MAST,” Gomez said. Besides school Gomez really enjoys American football. “If this school had American football I would love to cover it for the newspaper.”
