During quarantine the easiest thing to do is never leave your pajamas, remain in bed till 2pm and continue to watch Netflix while eating your way through the fridge till 4am. However, one look at any social media site and a flood of posts with the importance of being active and exercising causes a flood of guilt to flow through you. The next thing you know you are scrolling through endless YouTube videos looking for a good workout to get you through the day. Everywhere online, celebrities are taking part in live streams on Instagram with friends and family, YouTube channels with home workouts from HIIT exercises to body weight workouts adaptable to any room or environment. The amount of recourses helping people stay fit are endless, which also means a bit overwhelming, but do not be discouraged, as it’s just about finding what is right for you.

Scientists and fitness experts alike are stressing the importance of staying active while staying at home and many online platforms and YouTube channels have made this easily accessible. There are exercises and monthly workout plans available with or without equipment for beginners all the way to advanced learners. “I normally jog two miles and then follow different MadFit videos on YouTube,” senior Sofia Marin said.

“I do a circuit, 45-second repetitions, and three sets of each exercise. I do Russian twists, leg raises, hip raises, butterfly kicks, planks and seated in and outs. It targets the abs and some of the movements target the quads,” senior Fiona Killian said.

“I work out my arms, back, chest, abs, and legs with my at-home weights. I mostly do push-ups, crunches, squats, and bicep curls but I switch up the variations and add some weights sometimes,” senior Ravi Lima said.
