After 10 very successful seasons in the NFL with the St Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Aaron Donald announced he is retiring. Many people didn’t expect this as he is still 32 years old and believe he still has a few more seasons left.
Aaron Donald is regarded as one of the greatest defensive tackle of all time, since he won three defensive player of the year awards, which is tied the most in NFL history with JJ Watt and Lawrence Taylor. In his 10 seasons in the NFL he made 10 pro bowls, 8 first team all pro, and a Super-bowl ring.
Another retirement that really hurt and touched many NFL fans was Jason Kelce’s, center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jason played 13 years in the NFL with the Eagles. He will be known as one of the greatest centers of all time. In his 13 years in the league he was selected to the pro bowl seven times, first team all pro six times, and has one Superbowl ring.
There were a few more retirements in the NFL. Fletcher Cox officially retired from the NFL this offseason after 12 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Fletcher Cox has been selected to the pro bowl six times, he has been selected all pro four times, and he has won a Superbowl ring.
Another retirement is Leighton Vander Esch due to him being released from the Cowboys after suffering a severe neck injury. He has made one pro bowl and one second team all pro in his short six season career with the Cowboys.
