A new face has joined the administrative team at MAST Academy, bringing experience and enthusiasm to the role of Middle School Assistant Principal. Mr. Johnson, a seasoned educator and administrator, has quickly made a positive impression on the campus following his addition to MAST’s administrative team.
Mr. Johnson’s journey in education is marked by a deep commitment to student development and school leadership. Before arriving at MAST, he spent a significant amount of time in the classroom. “Yes, I have,” he confirmed when asked about his prior experience. “I was a science teacher at Miami Northwestern for nine years.” This extensive time in the classroom provided a foundation for the later position of assistant principal.
His administrative path began at Miami Northwestern, where he was appointed Assistant Principal for one year. Following this, he spent a year in the same position at Miami Edison. Now, he finds himself at MAST Academy.
Reflecting on his experience so far, Mr. Johnson was enthusiastic. “The experience has been phenomenal,” he stated. “The staff is excellent, and the students are phenomenal. It’s been a spectacular start to my year here at MAST.”
The move to MAST Academy came as part of broader changes within the district. When asked about his departure from his previous school, Mr. Johnson discussed the nature of administrative roles. “Well, that is the thing about administration,” he explained. “You are in the capacity to be moved at any time.” He elaborated that his move was primarily due to restructuring across many districts, leading to a number of administrative personnel shifts.
Crucially, he emphasized his satisfaction with the change. “I am very satisfied with my move here to MAST,” he affirmed, adding that he is “very happy” with the decisions that led him to the island campus.
Mr. Johnson’s arrival signals a fresh start and a continuation of experienced leadership at MAST Academy. His enthusiasm for the new role suggests a bright outlook for the school year.
