A few weeks ago on January 11, 2025, the freshman class of MAST Academy traveled as a group to the wonderful park Walt Disney World. After months of planning ,starting in October, done by the class sponsor, Mr. Perez, the Disney Trip had become a reality. When Mr. Perez was asked why Disney World as the class trip he said,”I personally really enjoy Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. I remember going as a kid with my family and getting so excited to ride on the Pirates of the Caribbean or It’s a Small World rides.” Which the whole class seemed to agree as they first heard of the uprising of rumors of going to Disney.
Multiple students, about 180, were asked to meet up at 4:45 in the morning which student Ananya Motiani stated was, “quite early but definitely worth it for the experience.”
Upon arrival, the students got off the bus and walked to the ferry which took them directly to the magical park. After reaching the park and scanning the tickets to get in, the students were off to go on the countless rides the park had to offer. Friends formed into groups and quickly ran to get good spots in the lines. Some chose to go ride Tron first while other went to Space Mountain. Each group creating their own plans on how they can ride all the rides within the time frame from 10:00 A.M to 6:30 P.M.
Student Lucas Margarinos said ,”I enjoyed Disney, and my favorite rides would have to be space mountain.”
After a while student had already become hungry. Some went to cafe’s and others went to full on diners. Abel Trisransri said ,” After walking for over 3 hours my feet already started to hurt and i was hungry so it was definitely nice to sit down and eat.” However, resting can only last so long when you still have a few more hours and more rides to go on. Also, during the trip groups of friends were required to send a photo confirmation of being “Alive and well.”
After that dreaded 6:30 approached students took the ferry back to the bus with a chance to rest their aching feet from all of the walking. Catherine Huber said ,”If I could take off my shoes on the bus I would.” Overall, the trip was a huge success leaving the freshmen satisfied and grateful.
