Students at MAST Academy love to spend their lunches in different ways. Lunch time is when everyone comes together and takes a break after a full day of learning in their classes. Some students like to spend their lunch helping reduce food waste and storing leftover foods. 12th grader Juan Castro says “Storing the leftover food into the community fridge instead of wasting it gives me a sense of accomplishment, knowing that I am giving back to my community.”

Michaela Suarez shows her delicious lunch that she loves to share with her friends and give out her recipes. She says “It makes me so happy when I bring shareable lunches that my friends and I can all enjoy together.”  Another day at lunch back in 2022 was spent watching the world cup be projected onto a big screen. Students gathered around and had a blast watching the suspenseful game.

Another day where Alexandra Sauers spends a peaceful lunch in the classroom with her friend. She says “We had an agreement to share the food, she brought the sweet stuff while I brought the salty foods.” To conclude lunch is a time to unwind and share meals and stories with your friends. MAST provides a nice environment where you can sit inside or outside and enjoy your break
