The New Year marks a fresh start and a new beginning. With it, comes the tradition of writing New Year’s resolutions. Whether it’s to be healthier, advance in your career, or do better in school these resolutions can be useful, if people actually stick to them.
Working out every day is a very common New Year’s resolution, but many people also fail at sticking to it. It is a difficult resolution to keep because many people may overestimate the amount of free time they have to go to the gym or exercise. It can also be difficult because there may be days where you are so physically and mentally exhausted and you don’t want to go to the gym.
Another very popular New Year’s resolution is to start saving more money. Freshman JC Nadal says “One of my main New Year’s resolution in to save more money and not spend unnecessarily.”
JC Nadal also states “It has been difficult trying to save money, but so far, I have stuck to my goal.”
If you’re in school still, many people set their New Year’s resolution to get better grades in classes you are struggling in. One way to work towards this goal is to start making more time to study for quizzes and tests.
There are so many different types of New Year’s resolution, but the most important part of choosing one is making sure it is achievable and not completely impossible. This is why many people don’t stick to their resolutions because they set unrealistic goals for themselves. If people want their New Years resolutions to become reality they need to create a balance between unrealistic and possible, that’s how we reach our goals with unprecedented success.
