As the holidays approach, students and teachers at MAST Academy are preparing for a
well-deserved break filled with unique traditions, exciting travel plans, and cherished moments.
For senior Thoth Hernandez, this Christmas break is particularly special. “It’s my last high
school Christmas, so I want to make the most of it with my family,” he shared. Thoth plans to
spend quality time with loved ones, keeping up with family traditions like decorating the
Christmas tree and hosting a big dinner on Christmas Eve. For him, this season is all about
savoring the simple joys of being surrounded by family before heading off to college.
Some students, like junior Tara Conway, are planning adventures beyond their
hometown. Tara and her family are traveling to Colorado for a snowy getaway in the mountains.
“We’re spending the holidays skiing and enjoying the winter scenery,” she said, adding that her
family will also take part in the resort’s Christmas festivities. Another student, junior Nicholas
Babilonia, is looking forward to staying local but with a twist. He plans on hanging out with his
friends all throughout break. He says “ I can’t wait for these two weeks off to get a break from
school and just enjoy my free time.”
As the holiday break draws near, the excitement and diversity of plans among students
highlight the unique ways the MAST Academy community celebrates the season. Whether it’s
traveling, cherishing family traditions, or exploring new experiences, everyone is looking forward
to making the most of this special time. No matter how they celebrate, the spirit of connection
and joy unites them all during the most wonderful time of the year.
