Miami Beach has been one of the most populated locations for visitors on spring break. With that comes tourists who don’t treat Miami like they would their own home. Over the years violence, DUIs, robberies, and various violent acts have happened in this heavily populated area by those who come to visit.
Miami Beach has since then put out an official “break up” statement with spring break and spring breakers. This video shows various issues Miami Beach has had in the past with tourists and is a firm statement mentioning the multiple laws they will be enforcing going forward.
In the video, it is specifically highlighted that starting this March for spring break there will be heavy curfews, DUI checkpoints, bag checks and restricted beach access. Miami Beach also posted a statement saying that Airbnb rentals and any type of renting booked for less than 6 months and a day will not be prohibited and it is illegal.
In addition, parking fines will be starting at 30 dollars and only continue going up. Heavy parking fees only apply to those who are not Miami Beach residents. High-impact parking measures are said to be enforced every Thursday through Sunday in March.
New rules and regulations hope to calm down these areas for spring break and it is heavily advised to avoid South Beach areas during March.
