AT MAST Academy, there are procedures in place in the events of different emergencies. A lesser known code at MAST is a Code Blue.
A Code Blue is any medical emergency that demands immediate attention. A common misconception about a Code Blue is that it is only for cardiac arrests, however any health issue lead constitutes a code blue. Examples include seizures and respiratory issues.
During this time, CPR certified staff leave their positions and go to the incident cite. All other students and faculty are to hold in their rooms until told otherwise.
Knowing the different response protocols at MAST and being vigilante on which code to call can save a life in a health-related crisis.
